Lori Hendrick
MS, CDA, CDT, RDH, PHDc
Recognized as a key opinion leader and educator, Lori began her training and rewarding career in dentistry as a chairside assistant while in high school. She has over 20 years experience as a dental lab technician with her certification in crown, bridge, and ceramics. Lori graduated from the CPCC Dental Hygiene Program holding a license to practice dental hygiene in NC and VA.

Lori furthered her education at Old Dominion University where she completed a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene while subsequently completing a Master of Science in Global Health. Currently, she is preparing to defend her dissertation for her Doctorate in Public Administration and Policy from ODU where her focus is on Oral Health Policy. Lori is studying Addiction and Recovery Counseling at the University of Florida and will graduate in December 2024 with a Master's Certificate in Addiction and Recovery Counseling.
Lori has also completed the ADA Community Dental Health Coordinator Program, NC Radiography for Educators Certification, NC Public Health Hygiene Certification, and was a graduate of the first cohort of the NC Dental Public Leadership Institute at UNC Gillings School of Public Health. Lori served as President of the North Carolina Dental Hygienists Association in 2021. She has represented the hygiene community on the Local Anesthetic and the Dental Workplace Shortage task forces at the North Carolina Dental Society. On November 1, 2021 Lori became one of the first hygienists certified to administer local anesthetic in NC. Lori and Joe co-write scientific articles for Dimensions of Dental Hygiene, Decisions in Dentistry, and RDH Magazine. Lori is on the peer review team for Dimensions of Dental Hygiene. She is also a part-time clinical hygiene instructor at CPCC and guest lecturer at Isothermal Dental Assisting School. Additionally, Lori serves as a hygiene representative on the Board of Directors of the Caring Dental Professionals and was recently elected by her peers to serve as the dental hygiene representative on the NC State Board of Dental Examiners.
Dr. Joseph Hendrick, Jr

As a key opinion leader and mentor, Joe began his professional career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated from the Kenan-Flager School of Business with a BS in Business Administration while subsequently completing a pre-doctoral/dental curriculum. Joe continued his education at UNC School of Dentistry earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1985.
He was awarded the Grover Hunter, Jr. Award for Academic and Clinical Excellence in undergraduate periodontics.
Joe owns and practices clinical dentistry in Shelby, NC with a concentration in general, restorative, and cosmetic procedures. Joe is an educator and instructor with Athena Dental Solutions.
Additionally, Joe has served as President of the Isothermal Dental Society, Member of the Piedmont Study Club/Seattle Study Club, President of First District Dental Society, and serves as the Immediate Past President of the North Carolina Dental Society. Joe serves on the Advisory Board at Isothermal Dental Assisting School.
Joe and Lori co-write scientific articles for Dimensions of Dental Hygiene, Decisions in Dentistry, and RDH Magazine.
