About
This continuing education course prepares dental hygiene educators to teach nutrition in ways that are clinically relevant, evidence-informed, and engaging for dental hygiene students. It connects foundational nutrition concepts to oral health, caries prevention, periodontal health, erosion, xerostomia, and patient counseling. Participants will learn how to design course outcomes, select teaching methods, lead case-based and active-learning activities, assess student learning, and update a nutrition curriculum for current dental hygiene practice. By the end, educators will have a practical framework for delivering a coherent nutrition course that helps students apply nutritional knowledge in clinical settings.
